History

The Friends of The Eddy Society

A group of individuals came together in November of 2005 when The King Edward Hotel and Calgary's Home of The Blues was closed down and condemned. The building was slated for demolition and was destined to become another city parking lot.

"The Friends" are committed to ensuring the voice of the community will be heard and represented. Our goal is for all sectors to reap the benefits from the National Music Centre project that The Cantos Music Foundation is undertaking.  

We thank you for your support and concern for what is to become the gateway and cornerstone to a vibrant area of our city that is in such need of revitalization.
